A Yes at the Top of Lofoten

Some love stories begin with a close friendship, before growing into something greater than anyone could have imagined. Vilde and Henrik met in upper secondary school in 2019. They were in the same class, became best friends first, and over time the friendship grew into something more.

«I noticed early on that Henrik was a rare kind of person,» Vilde says. «Even at sixteen he was thoughtful, caring, grounded and warm.» After school they moved to Bergen together to study, and today they have been a couple for five years. He listens to and accepts her exactly as she is, and everyday life together feels safe, joyful and full.

Both love being active, and feel at home in the mountains and in nature. This summer they had planned a trip to Lofoten. What Vilde did not know was that Henrik had carried the dream ring all the way to the summit of Glomtinden. With a panorama of sea, mountains and snow-capped peaks before them, he proposed.

«I was so moved and surprised that it all felt like a dream. The proposal could not have been more perfect — the place, the timing, the feeling. Just the two of us at the top.»
