Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations

Changed your mind? Conscious consumption is about being 100% sure, and it’s important for us that you love your Nangi purchase. We’re happy to accept returns of unworn, unmarked earrings, necklaces, and rings within 90 days of receipt.

Unfortunately, we can’t accept returns of size-adjusted rings, wedding bands or customized pieces.

If you decide to return your Nangi purchase, please contact us so we can provide you with a shipping label. Buyer must pay shipping both ways, and this amount will be deducted from the refund. Furthermore, please note that any duties that were initially covered by Nangi will be refunded a few weeks after we have received the return, and it is the customer's responsibility to follow up on the refund process.

The piece(s) will be inspected once received and must be in its original unworn, unscratched, pristine condition with no exchanged or missing stones and must include the original Nangi Fine Jewelry packaging.

Please note that, in certain countries, due to regulations for items exceeding specific value limits, you may be required to arrange the return yourself.

Contact us and we will provide a prepaid shipping label with our return instructions.

Please note that in some countries, due to regulations for items valued over NOK 10,000, you may need to arrange the return yourself.

As long as your Nangi jewelry is returned to us in its original condition, we will refund the full amount minus the cost of shipping both ways and the duties on international orders.

Because bespoke/customized jewelry pieces are made just for you, we don’t offer refunds unless it’s faulty.

Once we’ve received and processed your return, we’ll be in touch to let you know your refund is on its way. Please note it can take up to 10-15 business days for us to process your return, so please be patient!

Seen something else you prefer? We can arrange an exchange as long as you’re happy to cover the costs of the return for your original order and delivery of your new one. Note that size-adjusted rings and custom pieces are not included in this policy as they are made just for you. Please contact us to initiate the exchange process.

If you need to cancel an order, you must email us within 4 hours of placing your order. Many pieces are made to order, and once production starts, they cannot be canceled or returned.

Size & fit

Check out our handy ring size guide for more information. The best option is to visit us or your local jeweler and have them measure your finger or one of your rings to determine the correct ring size. Most jewelers use sizing rings, a large keychain with a set of rings in each size that you can try on to quickly determine the most reliable fit.

Alternatively, you can purchase your Nangi ring now and select "I need a ring sizer" in the size drop-down menu. That ensures that the ring isn’t sold to someone else and tells our team to hold off on the size adjustment until you’ve had a chance to try out the sizer.

Note that the fingers on your dominant hand are usually slightly larger than those on your non-dominant hand. So, if you’re right-handed, the ring you wear on your right ring finger will likely be a bit too big for your left ring finger.

Keep in mind that Nangi rings are typically thin and delicate (1-2 mm wide ring bands) and that it can therefore be wise to opt for a slightly smaller ring size. Rings with thinner bands tend to run a bit larger, whereas thicker rings have a more snug fit. The more metal around your finger, the more space it takes up and the tighter it fits. A thin ring band size 54 ring will not fit the same as a thick ring band size 54 ring.

Believe it or not, your ring finger measuring conditions need to be just right. Warm weather makes our fingers swell, and they tend to shrink from cold weather in the winter.

It’s ideal to measure your ring size when your body temperature is normal, as your fingers can also be swollen when you first wake up. It's therefore best to get measured around the middle of the day at room temperature for the most accurate, comfortable fit.

If you’re pregnant or on a strict diet, it’s advisable to go for the ring in its ready-to-ship size and have it size-adjusted later on, as these factors can greatly affect your ring size.

Push the end through to form a ring shape. Adjust on the finger to give a comfortable fit! Make sure that it slips over the joints of the finger without difficulty. Read off the indicated size, and that's it!

Of course! We resize all rings for free prior to dispatch, and we offer one free ring sizing for all clients. If you’d like the ring resized after receiving the ring, we’ll arrange a return and resize it for free, minus the shipping costs. If you’re based in Oslo, you can simply hand in the ring to us in our Studio Store.

If you’re not based in Oslo, simply email us with your order number and instructions on how you would like the ring changed and we’ll arrange a return for resize. If we’ve already size adjusted the ring for you, the second ring sizing costs 600 NOK for yellow gold and 900 NOK for white gold.

If you’re based outside of Norway, we recommend getting the ring resized with your local jeweler due to the shipping costs of sending it back and forth to Norway. However, if you prefer that our Nangi goldsmiths do the resizing, we will of course arrange this.

If you’re unsure of which ring size you want it adjusted to, you can use the free ring sizer that we include for free with all ring orders. Alternatively, check out our handy ring size guide or drop by the Oslo Studio Store and let us help you figure out the correct ring size.

Most of our ring sizes are listed in the ring size drop-down menu, but we also offer half sizes upon request. Please state the half size you would like in the comment section during checkout.

We got you! Read more under the section “Planning a proposal” above.

Planning a proposal?

While many couples now choose to pick out engagement rings together, some still prefer to keep the element of surprise for the proposal. If you're unsure about your partner's ring size, don't worry! Our top recommendation is to discreetly borrow a ring your partner wears on their ring finger and bring it to your local jeweler or visit our Oslo Studio Store to have the size checked.

If borrowing a ring isn’t possible, we suggest purchasing the ring in its ready-to-ship size and having it resized after the proposal. Please note that rings in ready-to-ship sizes are exchangeable and refundable. For custom-made rings, we recommend selecting the most common sizes, EU 54 for women and EU 62 for men.

If you have a rough idea of your partner’s ring size, you might consider choosing a size or two larger so that the ring will fit during the proposal. You can still surprise them and later bring the ring to your jeweler or back to us for resizing.

Here's a link to an article we've written with additional advice on how to find your partners ring size.

Absolutely! We can work with you to ensure the ring is delivered at a convenient time. With DHL Express, you can choose your preferred delivery day and time, or have the package sent to a DHL service point (typically your nearest post office). You can also update the delivery address to your workplace or another location, ensuring your partner won’t accidentally receive it at home.

Our shipping box is 100% recyclable and discreet, without logos. The sender will appear as Color To The People AS, not Nangi Fine Jewelry, so even if your partner sees the package, they won’t guess what’s inside!

Yes! All our rings come in our signature walnut box, perfect for a proposal. Each box is handcrafted in Ukraine and has its own unique character, just like our rings.

Depending on the design, most of our jewelry can be resized within a certain range. Even in cases where resizing is not possible, there are options to accommodate the necessary changes. If you receive your ring and realize you've ordered the wrong size, the first thing to do is to find your correct ring size in EU standard sizing, either by visiting us or a local jeweler. Once you have this, contact our studio team to arrange the best way to resize your ring. A straightforward resize typically takes 2-3 weeks.

Wear & Care

While gold is beautiful and timeless, it’s also a soft metal. This makes it susceptible to scratches and dents. Be mindful of your gold rings, earrings and necklaces while you wear them and remove them while playing any high-contact sports. Learn more about Nangi jewelry wear and care.

White gold is plated with rhodium, which gives it the white color, but over time, this plating wears off, and the yellow color of the gold becomes more prominent. To maintain the shiny, white surface, we recommend that you have the ring rhodium plated by a jeweler at regular intervals. The frequency of this maintenance depends on how much wear and tear the ring is exposed to.

We also offer a yearly service on all your Nangi rings, read more about this under “Yearly Service”.

No, because we use 14K and 18K solid gold instead of gold plating, gold filling or gold vermeil. Jewelry that is not made in solid gold will wear away over time, revealing the metal below it and affect the color of the jewelry. At Nangi, we specifically use solid gold to provide our clients with high-quality pieces of jewelry that resist time, and that can be passed onto generations.

Yes! All our pieces are made with solid gold, so there's no harm in wearing them in water. Water will not damage the metal, nor will the pieces discolor. Keep in mind that we always recommend taking your jewelry off when going for a swim/doing other activities, especially if you are swimming in saltwater or chlorine, as this can damage your precious gems. Learn more about Nangi jewelry wear and care.

We recommend that you clean your gold and gemstone jewelry at home regularly.

Fill a bowl with 2 cups of warm water and several drops of mild dish detergent. Soak your solid gold jewelry in the solution for 30 minutes. Scrub the gold jewelry with a soft toothbrush, then rinse it with water and polish with your Nangi jewelry cloth.

You’re also always welcome to drop by our Oslo showroom and have your Nangi jewelry cleaned - free of charge of course.

Materials & production

At Nangi, we exclusively use high-quality, low-impact materials for all of our rings, necklaces, and earrings. That means solid 14K and 18K gold, platinum, silver, natural gemstones and sustainable lab-grown diamonds that will last and lifetime and beyond.

Learn about the difference between carat and karat here!

Yes, all our rings are nickel free.

Our jewelry collection is made with trusted suppliers in Norway, Denmark, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and Thailand. Most of our custom-made jewelry is made in Sri Lanka.

Our colored gemstones are mined.

All our colored gemstones are bought from our friend and trusted supplier in Sri Lanka. We have a large range of gemstones in stock - from sapphires, to rubies, tourmalines, emeralds etc. See our available gemstones here!

All custom-made pieces come with a certificate, and a few of our in-stock pieces also include certificates. It’s stated under each piece if a certificate is included. We only use leading third-party gemstone grading organizations. Colored gemstones are certified through PGT Lab in Sri Lanka, whilst lab-grown diamonds above 0,75 ct ct are certified either through IGI or GIA. Each lab-grown diamond certificate is unique to your diamond and provides a diamond identification number that is laser-inscribed in your diamond.

Lab-grown diamonds

Our diamonds are created using cutting-edge technology that replicates natural growing conditions in a lab, and we work with trusted labs around the world. This results in diamonds that are chemically and physically identical to ones that are mined — but with a lower environmental impact. Learn more about our diamonds here.

Nope. Not even a trained gemologist (educated gemstone expert) can see the difference. Lab-grown diamonds exhibit the same exceptional beauty and brilliance as a mined diamond because they are identical in composition.

Learn more about the difference between mined diamonds and lab-grown diamonds here.

Yes! Just like mined diamonds, lab-grown diamonds are made up of one single element – carbon. Our diamonds are traceable, transparently priced but without the human and environmental toll of mining. Learn more about the various qualities of a diamond (which are the same whether it’s lab-grown or mined!) here.

Yes, GIA and IGI all grade lab-grown diamonds and our pieces featuring a diamond above 0.75 carat come with one of these certificates. At Nangi, we mostly use IGI grading. The diamond reports include the standard color, clarity and cut grading scales for reference purposes.

In 2018, the Federal Trade Commission redefined the term “diamond,” removing the word "natural" to also include lab-grown diamonds. A diamond, whether mined or created, is “a mineral consisting essentially of pure carbon crystallized in the isometric system.

Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds. For years, the word “synthetic” led to misconceptions, with people associating it with imitation stones like cubic zirconia. But lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds—just created in a different environment.

In short, mined diamonds have a devastating environmental and social impact whereas lab-grown diamonds do not.

Learn more here.

The four Cs is a term for the four most common rating categories to assess when looking at a diamond and stands for: Color, Clarity, Carat, Cut. Learn more here.

Fluorescence is a topic of much debate. It refers to the visible light some diamonds emit when they are exposed to invisible ultraviolet (UV) rays. GIA studies show that, for the overwhelming majority of diamonds, the strength of fluorescence has no widely noticeable effect on the diamond’s appearance.

Ethics

Sri Lanka is a household name in gem mining, and one of the top producers of naturally sourced sapphires. It’s known as “the island of jewels” and is the home to 70 of the world’s 200 varieties of coloured stones, including its famous Ceylon or Blue sapphire. Not only are some of the most beautiful coloured gemstones in the world from Sri Lanka, but the goldsmiths and jewelers in Sri Lanka are some of the most talented in the world!

Learn more about the island of jewels here.

No mining is environmentally friendly, and mining colored gemstones are no exception. However, mining colored gemstones have a much less environmental impact than diamond mines. From an ethical perspective, our contribution is to source from reputable and reliable suppliers that we have a personal and close relationship with due to our connection to Sri Lanka. Learn more about our story here. We also support their excellent craftsmanship by locating parts of our jewelry production here.

The gem industry is a key contributor to the Sri Lankan economy and is heavily regulated by the government through the National Gem and Jewellery Authority. Sri Lanka’s governments have paid careful attention to the management and practices related to gem mining. Notable here are the many rules and regulations that have been put in place to ensure ethical and environmentally friendly sourcing, mining and distribution of gemstones, especially sapphires. All Nangi gems go through the National Gem and Jewellery Authority before being exported. That way, we ensure that we follow and comply with all rules and regulations.

We strive to be an industry leader within sustainability. We are not perfect, but our view on sustainability is to always make the greenest choices possible.

It’s important for us to give back to the Sri Lankan community, and that’s why we donate 5% of our proceeds to an orphanage for young girls. Learn more about our CSR efforts here.

Due to our close relationship with our trusted goldsmiths and suppliers, we can ensure and validate that their working conditions are good. We visit them at least once a year, and because we are able to oversee the production in this manner, we are confident and proud to be able to offer their exquisite craftsmanship to our clients.
