Meet Sunniva – Our New Sustainability Consultant

At Nangi, jewelry is about so much more than sparkling gemstones and beautiful design. To us, every piece tells a story – a symbol of love, memories, and life’s most meaningful milestones. Just as important, however, is that the story can be worn with pride, because it’s crafted with care for both people and the planet.

That’s why we’re so excited to welcome Sunniva to our team this fall as our dedicated Sustainability Consultant. She will be working closely with us to strengthen what we care about most: creating ethical and sustainable jewelry that feels as good as it looks.

Who is Sunniva?

Born and raised in Bergen, Norway, Sunniva is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Sustainability at the University of Bergen. Choosing Nangi for her placement was an easy decision – she wanted a space where her academic focus could meet her passion for real change.

Her background is impressive: a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Politics (where she wrote her thesis on the UN’s climate goals), further studies in Human Rights and Psychology, and a specialization in sustainable leadership and marketing. But above all, Sunniva brings a genuine passion for making a difference.

Even before beginning her master’s, she knew she wanted to focus on lab-grown diamonds. To Sunniva, they represent the future: true beauty without compromise – offering the same brilliance as mined diamonds, but without the ethical shadows.

Lab-Grown vs. Mined Diamonds: What’s the Difference?

Outside of her studies, Sunniva finds balance in creativity – knitting, painting, embroidery – or simply escaping into the mountains. And here’s a fun fact: since the age of 19, she and her partner have run a campground every summer!
