A diamond is loved for the light it casts. Whether it’s formed deep within the earth or created in a modern laboratory, its beauty is graded in exactly the same way. Lab-grown and mined diamonds are evaluated by independent gemological laboratories according to identical criteria.
At Nangi, we choose lab-grown diamonds because they offer exceptional quality, full traceability, and a sustainable origin. Each gemstone is set in pure gold, handcrafted in Sri Lanka with lasting beauty in mind.

Diamonds are classified globally using the same system — the 4Cs — and this applies to both lab-grown and mined diamonds:
In addition, experts often assess:
The key point: Same language, same scale, same laboratories (such as IGI). The certificates look and read the same—no matter the origin.

In a lab, the growth process can be controlled to favor more desirable combinations of color and clarity. The result? Reputable jewelers often offer a broader selection of bright, clear stones with fewer or subtler inclusions.
That doesn’t make them “mass-produced.” Each diamond grows individually, developing its own pattern and personality—and is certified one by one.
The romantic truth: Beauty lies in light. The right cut (slip) and proportions are still the most important factors for maximum brilliance—whether the diamond is from a lab or the earth.

Every Nangi diamond (above a certain size) comes with an independent certificate and a laser-engraved ID.
This ensures confidence, traceability, and transparency at every step.

1) Cut first An ideal or excellent cut gives life to the stone—its brilliance (white light), fire (rainbow flashes), and scintillation (sparkle as it moves). A great cut > everything else.
2) Color
3) Clarity Choose VS–SI for an “eye-clean” diamond — meaning no inclusions are visible to the naked eye. Placement and type of inclusion often matter more than the number itself.
4) Fluorescence Rarely affects appearance. It’s a matter of taste — we visually inspect every stone for you.

“Lab-grown diamonds aren’t rare?” / “Mined ones are?” In truth, diamond value is largely shaped by supply, demand, and a few dominant market players. Neither lab-grown nor mined diamonds are truly “rare.” What matters is beauty, cut, documented quality, ethics, and sustainability—the values that should define luxury today.
“Lab-grown means mass-produced and impersonal.” Not at all. Every lab-grown diamond forms on its own, graded individually, and issued its own certificate. At Nangi, we handpick each stone—with both our eyes and our hearts.
