Peacock

The Peacock Collection is inspired by the large, colorful pheasants, known for their rainbow-like tails that display gorgeous hues of blue and green. The peacock is a possessor of some of the most admired human characteristics, and is a symbol of integrity and the beauty we can achieve when we endeavor to show our true colors.

The peacock's tail feathers spread out in a distinctive train that is more than 60 percent of the bird’s total body length and boast colorful "eye" markings of blue, gold, red, and other hues. The large train is used in mating rituals and courtship displays. It can be arched into a magnificent fan that reaches across the bird's back and touches the ground on either side. Females are believed to choose their mates according to the size, color, and quality of these outrageous feather trains. Despite these odd proportions, the bird flies just fine, if not very far.

There are two familiar peacock species. The blue peacock originated from Sri Lanka and India, while the green peacock inhabits more Eastern areas. The green peacock is found in the wild in Java, Myanmar (Burma), China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia. Their habitat is more tropical than that of the blue peacock. However, their habitat has been widely destroyed and reduced, and the green peafowl is now an endangered species. A more distinct and little-known species, the Congo peacock, inhabits African rain forests.

Spinel

Spinel has excellent durability (7,5 to 8 on Mohs scale) and is available in a brilliant range of colors (colorless, pink, red, orange, green, blue, purple, brown, black).

In ancient times, Southeast Asia’s mines yielded exceptional large spinel crystals, which became the treasured property of kings and emperors, often passing through many hands as spoils of war. Red spinel has in fact long been mistaken for ruby by emperors and monarchs. Many of the famous “rubies” of history were actually spinels. One of the most famous examples is the so-called “Black Prince’s Ruby.” This historic gem is set in England’s Imperial State Crown and displayed in the Tower of London.

Spinel is the birthstone of August, together with the peridot. Spinel is believed to protect the owner from harm and soothe away sadness.

Finding your ring size

All of our rings are standard EU sizes. If you don’t know your EU size, you can visit a local jeweller and have them measure your finger or one of your rings to determine the correct ring size. If you are unable to do this, please feel free to use our options below.

MEASURE AT HOME

  • Take a piece of paper and wrap it around the finger
  • Mark the exact spot where the ends join
  • With a ruler, measure the length from end to end
  • Use the chart below to find the correct size (e.g. EU size 42 = 42 mm circumference)

ARE YOU GIFTING A RING TO SOMEONE?

Measure the diameter of a ring you know fits the person you are giving the ring to. Alternatively: choose the most common ring size (EU 54/17.2 mm/US size 7) and have your local jeweler adjust the ring if needed afterwards.
