Lab-grown diamonds are atomically identical to mined diamonds. They are created in a lab, meaning that the origin of our diamonds is certain. Lab-grown diamonds offer the exact same clarity and quality as mined ones. The only difference is that they are created in a more sustainable and eco-friendly way. 

Lab-grown diamonds go by many different names: Aboveground Diamonds, Lab-Created Diamonds, Laboratory-Grown Diamonds, Man-Made Diamonds, Lab-Made Diamonds, and even Engineered Diamonds!

Serendip is the old name for Sri Lanka, and from it comes the word serendipity—a lovely reminder of the unexpected, beautiful moments in life.

The history of the two-stone ring — known as Toi et Moi — is both rich and romantic.

Its origins trace back to the 18th century, when Napoleon Bonaparte proposed to his beloved Joséphine with a ring set with two pear-shaped gemstones: one blue sapphire and one white diamond, delicately set in gold.

Their love story defied convention. Joséphine was a widow with two children and six years Napoleon’s senior — circumstances that led his family to strongly oppose the match. Yet, after just two weeks of engagement, the couple married in 1796. Days later, Napoleon departed to lead the French army in their victorious campaign in Italy.

He was crowned Emperor of France in 1804, Joséphine became his Empress, and although they later divorced due to her inability to bear more children, they are said to have remained deeply devoted to one another.

In 2013, Joséphine’s iconic Toi et Moi ring made headlines when it sold at auction in France for nearly $1 million — a testament to both its historical significance and emotional legacy.

Today, the Toi et Moi ring is once again capturing hearts. The two gemstones, nestled together, symbolize unity — two souls becoming one. Like yin and yang, they represent balance, duality, and connection.
