About color-changing sapphires

Color-changing sapphires are exceptionally rare stones and most people are unaware of their existence - let alone know what they look like. These gems are truly transfixing and marvelous to behold.

Unsurprisingly, color changing sapphires change color; but not in the way that the mood ring from your childhood did. Color changing sapphires are stones that exhibit different colors in different lighting conditions, giving you two very exciting colors under the right conditions. Under daylight, or fluorescent equivalent light, the typical color change sapphire’s basic color ranges from blue to violet.

Under incandescent light (electric light bulbs, or candle light), the color changes to a range of violetish purple to strongly reddish purple. This effect is caused by the interaction of the sapphire, which absorbs specific wavelengths of light, and the light-source, whose spectral output varies depending upon the illuminate. Traces of metal impurities in the sapphire, such as chromium and vanadium, are responsible for the color change.

Color-changing sapphires are quite phenomenal and depending on where you are, you’ll be treated to a beautiful and surprising color.

Sapphire

Most jewelry customers think all sapphires are blue, but in fact sapphires come in a rainbow of colors from white, black, brown, gray, violet, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and intermediate hues. Some sapphires exhibit the phenomenon known as color change, most often going from blue in daylight or fluorescent lighting to purple under incandescent light.

Sapphire scores a 9 on Mohs scale, and thus has excellent toughness and does not break easily when struck. This makes it a great choice for rings subject to daily wear.

For centuries, sapphire has been associated with royalty and romance. The world’s most famous engagement ring is Kate Middleton’s and Princess Diana’s blue sapphire, the "Royal Blue" - a 12-carat oval blue Ceylon sapphire from Sri Lanka.

Sapphire is the birthstone of September, and is the gemstone of creative expression and inner peace and meditation. Traditionally, sapphire symbolizes nobility, truth, sincerity, and faithfulness. It has decorated the robes of royalty and clergy members for centuries. In ancient Greece and Rome, kings and queens were convinced that blue Sapphires protected their owners from envy and harm.

Flamingo

A celebration of color, confidence, and luminous beauty

The Flamingo Collection is a radiant tribute to one of nature’s most striking creatures – the flamingo. With its sculptural poise and unmistakable hues, the flamingo moves with elegance and certainty, standing tall in full color without ever needing to explain its presence.

This collection draws from the palette found in its feathers – soft peach, vibrant pink, coral, golden yellow and fiery orange. Each gemstone is chosen for its joyful brilliance and ability to catch the light like sunlight on water. Whether it’s a glowing sapphire or a rare tourmaline, every piece feels alive with warmth and charm.

Flamingo rings are luminous and expressive – made for those who radiate confidence and move through the world with a graceful spark. The colors are uplifting, the energy bold yet light, and the message clear: beauty doesn’t ask permission.

Crafted in pure gold, the collection embraces joyful contrasts and playful elegance. Each gemstone becomes a celebration in itself – of personality, individuality, and feminine fire.

Flamingo is for the free-spirited, the vibrant-hearted, the ones who know that color is power – and lightness is strength.
