5 Essential Jewelry Pieces You Need For Your Wedding Day

Nangi drop

A wedding is one of the most special occasions in your life, and that's why bridal jewelry is an important part of your outfit on the big day.

But what jewelry do you actually need for your wedding?

Les us help you along the way by taking a closer look at some of the key jewelry choices you should consider.

Nangi Fine Jewelry

Bridal Jewelry

Nangi is the first jewelry brand in Norway to offer lab-grown diamonds. In addition to the ethical and sustainable benefits, lab-grown diamonds are also of exceptional quality and beauty. Since they are identical to mined diamonds, they are equally stunning, timeless, and radiant. This makes them an excellent choice for jewelry that you want to have and wear in the years to come – both on your wedding day and in the days that follow.

Lab-grown diamonds have the exact same quality and characteristics as mined diamonds. They are atomically identical, making lab-grown diamonds 100% real diamonds! When diamonds are developed in a laboratory, we recreate the same conditions that cause diamonds to form in the Earth's surface. These are truly beautiful bridal jewelry pieces. Wedding Bands

The wedding ring is perhaps the most significant piece of jewelry you will wear on your wedding day. This ring symbolizes your relationship and the commitment you make to each other to be together for the rest of your lives. Choosing a wedding ring is an important decision as it represents your commitment to your partner and is a piece of jewelry you will wear every day.

Nangi Fine Jewelry

The wedding ring should reflect your personal style and taste. Do you prefer a classic round ring, or would you like something more edgy? Do you prefer white gold or yellow gold? The possibilities are endless, and there are many designs to choose from!

Things to consider when choosing a wedding ring:

When it comes to coordinating your engagement ring and wedding ring, it's important to think about how the rings will look together. The engagement ring is usually a diamond or another gemstone set in gold or platinum, while the wedding ring is often a simpler gold or platinum band that is placed on the finger after you exchange vows.

If you want to wear both rings on the same finger, it's important that they complement each other in both style and size. Some people choose to purchase an engagement ring and wedding ring that are already coordinated and designed to fit together. Others choose to buy separate rings and ensure they harmonize with each other.

If you prefer to wear the wedding ring on a different finger or on the opposite hand, you have more freedom to choose a ring that matches your personal style and taste. However, it's important to remember that some rings, such as a very wide or intricately designed ring, may be more comfortable to wear alone and not on the same finger as the engagement ring.

Material

Some metals and designs require more maintenance than others. White gold is plated with rhodium, which gives it the white color, but over time, this plating wears off, and the yellow color of the gold becomes more prominent. To maintain the shiny, white surface, we recommend that you have the ring rhodium plated by a jeweler at regular intervals. The frequency of this maintenance depends on how much wear and tear the ring is exposed to.

Yellow gold will retain its color and is a very durable material that will last a lifetime if taken care of.

Regardless of the gold color you choose, it's wise to remove the ring when engaging in activities such as exercising, doing household chores, or working in the garden, as gold is a soft material that can easily get scratched or dented. Remember to also clean your jewelry regularly.

Overall, the most important thing when choosing a wedding ring is to find one that you love and that represents your commitment to your partner. Consider these factors, but ultimately trust your own instincts and preferences when selecting the perfect wedding ring for you. At Nangi, we handcraft many of our wedding rings in Bergen on demand, and custom engraving is included. These rings are made from recycled gold, making them a sustainable and meaningful choice.

Earrings

Earrings are a wonderful accessory for your wedding dress. They can be small and simple or large and bold, depending on your style and the outfit you have chosen. A classic style is diamond earrings, which add an elegant and sophisticated touch to any ensemble. If sustainability is also a focus for you, opting for lab-grown diamonds is a great choice.

When choosing earrings for your wedding, it's important to consider the balance between your outfit, makeup, and accessories. The earrings should complement and complete your look without stealing all the attention. Remember that less can be more, and sometimes simple and elegant earrings can be just as beautiful as large and eye-catching ones.

A bracelet can be worn long after the wedding day and serve as a cherished reminder of your special day. It can be dressed up or down, worn alone or paired with other bridal jewelry, making it a versatile piece that you will love to wear in the years to come.

Necklaces are a great way to draw attention to your face and complement your wedding dress. Once again, you can choose a simple and elegant gold necklace or something more bold and eye-catching, such as one with lab-grown diamonds.

Nangi offers classic and timeless jewelry pieces that you can wear every day, such as pendants or simple necklaces that go well with any outfit. All Nangi necklaces are made of pure gold, which means they won't tarnish, oxidize, or lose their color over time. They are exquisite bridal jewelry pieces that will last a lifetime and more!

Something Blue

The color blue is often associated with loyalty, trust, and faithfulness, all of which are important qualities in a long-lasting and successful marriage. Since "something blue" is a tradition in weddings, incorporating a blue sapphire can be a meaningful way to honor this tradition. At the same time, it adds elegance and glamour to your attire. These are truly bridal jewelry pieces with a beautiful statement expression.

Nangi Fine Jewelry

Nangi's sapphires come from Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon before 1972, is a gemological haven and has earned the nickname "The Island of Jewels." It is abundant in beautiful gemstones of various colors, shapes, and sizes. The island is particularly renowned for its exceptional sapphires, including the famous sapphire in Princess Diana's engagement ring.

Nangi Fine Jewelry

In addition to its symbolism, a sapphire is a fantastic gemstone that can complement a variety of bridal gown styles and color choices. Its gorgeous blue hue can add a pop of color to an all-white or neutral wedding ensemble, and its hardness and durability make it a practical choice for jewelry meant for daily wear. If you are drawn to the beauty and symbolism of this gemstone, it can be a lovely addition to your wedding look and perhaps the perfect heirloom piece.

Remember to clean your jewelry before the big day

One final tip before the big day is to clean your jewelry. Dirt and oil can build up on your ring over time, causing it to lose its shine and appear less sparkly. To make it look its best, clean your jewelry regularly. You can use a soft toothbrush and mild soap to remove dirt. Make sure to rinse the ring thoroughly with warm water and dry it with a soft polishing cloth.

Nangi Fine Jewelry
  • Soak the jewelry in a solution of warm water and mild soft detergent for a few moments.
  • Use a soft brush to gently scrub your jewelry.
When you’ve finished scrubbing, dip the jewelry piece back into the solution for one last wetting.
  • Then rinse in warm running water, preferably about the same temperature as your solution. (Radical temperature changes should be avoided.)
  • Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth, or simply let it air dry.
Once dry, polish the jewelry with our lint free Nangi jewelry cloth to get the best result
