Jewelry often holds more than just material value. It represents love, memories, and meaningful milestones. That’s why it’s important to consider how to best protect your most treasured pieces. Here’s what you should know about insuring jewelry in Norway.
Most home and travel insurance policies in Norway cover jewelry up to NOK 40,000 per item or incident, provided the loss is due to theft, burglary, or accident. This applies to top-tier plans from companies like Tryg, IF, Gjensidige, and Fremtind.
However, there are important exclusions:
This is a Norwegian term for "high-value item insurance," and it covers loss or damage regardless of cause. It typically costs between NOK 50–200 per month, depending on the item's value and your insurance provider.
If your jewelry is worth more than NOK 40,000, we highly recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask about a high-value item policy. A receipt from Nangi is accepted as valid documentation.
By insuring your most valuable jewelry, you’re not just protecting an object—you’re safeguarding the memories and meaning behind it.
